We all know that exercise reduces the risk of many diseases. That’s the reason
people SHOULD exercise. But what about a reason for people to WANT to
exercise? How about this: Exercise will make you look and feel better than
you’ve felt in your entire life.

Unlike cosmetic products and procedures, exercise improves your internal as
well as your external body. Exercise is what a woman does FOR HERSELF,
and there is NOTHING wrong with that, Moms!

It’s never too late to tone your muscles, increase your strength, or lose weight.
Regardless of age, women want to do the things they’ve always done,
and without pain. They also want to look HOT! Those are great goals. But as
we get older we have to WORK to stay younger. When we accept that fact we
are on our way to a better life.

Worried about bulking up when you lift weights? Don’t. Testosterone is necessary to build muscle, and you don’t have nearly as much testosterone as a man. What DOES happen is that your muscles tone up, your posture improves,
and you go about your daily activities with more confidence and energy than
you ever thought possible.

If your kids laugh at you doing push-ups or wearing short shorts, don’t worry
about it. You’re not out to impress them. You’re out to FEEL GOOD AND
LOOK GOOD. In fact, stop worrying about what others think in general.
You can’t control what people think, and if you try too hard, what YOU think
will get lost!

But exercise is only half of it. The other part is eating the right foods in the
right amount and at the right times. Unfortunately scientists haven’t yet found
a way to “spot reduce,” or lose weight only in specific parts of your body.
But don’t let Mother Nature stop you. If you work with Mother Nature,
She will work with you. The key is understanding why your body behaves
as it does, especially when it needs energy.

Most personal trainers aren’t dieticians. But they can provide you with the
information you need to lose weight. And they will encourage you along the way.

The case for hiring a trainer is twofold: (1) to get the maximum benefit from
exercise and (2) to minimize the possibility of injury. A trainer tailors a program to YOUR needs, whether you want to lose weight, add muscle, or play tennis, play golf, swim, or ski. He or she is your key to a fitness lifestyle, and you don’t always need 25 sessions to accomplish your goals.
